Praying Mantis

SPECIAL NOTE: This session is a follow up to the sessions held October 24, 2023 where lady bugs were introduced. Since praying mantis are not available until January, JTREE will bring the praying mantis kits into the classroom on this date.

Big Questions: How do plants and animals survive in their habitats?

Small Question: How do ladybugs and praying mantis hello their ecosystems?

Objective: Students will be able to explain how ladybugs and praying mantis survive in, and benefit the desert environment.

Materials: Water bottles and sunscreen. JTREE will provide remaining materials.

Use observations to describe patterns of what plants and animals (including humans) need to survive.
